For Boat Rental Operators
Florida makes you brief every renter. Do it at the dock and that’s 15–20 minutes gone, every single rental. Send it ahead instead and they show up done. Waivers and rental contracts go out the same way if you use them, and it all stays filed and searchable when FWC or your insurer asks.
What Your Renters Do
The first two happen before they leave home. You only handle the third.
Watch the Safety Video
Your renter does the FWC briefing on their own phone, before they leave home
Initial & Sign
They initial each safety topic and sign the attestation
Quick Dock Check
You run a short skills check when they get to the boat
Ready to Go
They get an FWC Verified badge. You get the signed record
Grows Into Your Whole Booking System
Pro and Pro+ make BoatPassport your booking system too. Reservations, payments, fleet — with the money going to your own Square or Stripe, or through ours if you would rather not run one.
We Set It Up For You, Free
We are setting up our first ten operators ourselves, at no charge, and you do not need a credit card to start. Send us your current website and we will move your boats, prices and availability across, put the booking widget on it, and set up payments however you want to take them — your own Square or Stripe, or ours. If your site is old enough that you would rather start over, we will rebuild it. Nothing goes live until you have seen it and said so.
All we ask back is the truth about what is broken, and permission to say you use it. Ten, because that is how many we can do properly.
Questions Operators Ask
Does a remote safety briefing actually satisfy FWC?
Yes. The briefing runs on the renter’s phone and captures their signed acknowledgement on form FWCDLE_313, under Rule 68D-34.002, F.A.C. — same form, same items, done before they get to you. The dock check and the instructor sign-off still happen in person. Every attestation is stored signed and timestamped, so when FWC or your insurer asks you pull up the record instead of digging through a folder.
Is a liability waiver the same thing as the FWC attestation?
Different documents, and BoatPassport sends both in the same link. The attestation is the one the state makes you do; your waiver and rental contract are your own. The renter signs everything in one sitting before they arrive, and it all lands in the same archive.
What else does BoatPassport do besides compliance?
Bookings and a calendar, fleet and pricing management, an embeddable booking widget for your own website, e-sign waivers and rental contracts with a driver-licence scanner that prefills them, dynamic pricing, an analytics dashboard, email and SMS notifications, and a renter portal. Attestation on its own is $39 a month if compliance is all you need. The full booking platform is $89, and $179 adds waivers and the AI assistant.
What do you take per booking?
That depends on how you take payment. Connect your own Square or Stripe account and BoatPassport takes 0% of every booking — you pay a flat monthly plan and keep your processor’s own rates. If you would rather not run your own processor, you can use ours and pay a small per-booking fee instead. The difference compounds: a booking platform charging 6% of gross takes $12,000 out of a $200,000 season, where our top plan is $179 a month.
What can an AI assistant actually do with my boats?
The same things a customer on your website can do: see which boats are free on a date, get a real price with tax and fees, and hold a slot with a payment link. So when someone asks ChatGPT for a boat in Venice this Saturday, your boats can be the answer instead of a phone number they have to call. It works the other way round too — you can ask your own assistant what is on the calendar tomorrow, or to send a customer a payment link, without opening the dashboard.
What is an agentic connector?
It is the plug that lets an AI assistant talk to your business directly, instead of reading your website and guessing. BoatPassport speaks MCP, the same connector standard Claude and ChatGPT use, so you can hook up the assistant you already use and just ask it things — what is on the calendar Saturday, send the Johnsons a payment link, which boat earned the most in July.
I am not technical. Can you set the whole thing up for me?
Yes, and for our first ten operators we are doing it free, with no credit card to start. Send us your current website and we will move your boats, prices and availability across, put the booking widget on it, and connect your payment processor. If your site is old enough that you would rather start over, we will rebuild it. Nothing goes live until you have looked at it and said so. All we ask back is honest feedback and permission to say you use it.
What about Siri and an iPhone app?
Apple is moving Siri toward acting inside apps through App Intents, which means the businesses a voice assistant can actually book will be the ones with an app that exposes them. We are building the BoatPassport iOS app for that. There is no iPhone app today. The groundwork is already live, though: the booking gateway and the connector an assistant uses now are the same interfaces the app will sit on top of, so your account will work with it the day it ships.
